Shipping

Nothing isin thepost yet

Two Shar Pei brothers have very strong feelings about cardboard boxes. Here is the plan for sending you one, and an honest count of what still has to be decided first.

Right now

There is nothing to order.

No checkout, no basket, no parcel, no payment. This page is here early so you can read the plan before you ever spend a penny.

Status, before answers

What is settled, and what is not

Every shipping question is below. Each one carries a chip saying whether it has really been decided. Where the honest answer is that nobody has decided yet, that is what it says, because a friendly guess about a delivery time is a promise somebody will plan a birthday around.

  1. Not decided

    Where orders can be sent

We will publish a plain list of every country and region we can post to. If your home is not on the list, you will see that before you reach the checkout, not after.

Owner suppliedThe list of countries and regions. Left blank rather than guessed.

  2. Not decided

How long packing and delivery take

Handling time is the gap between your order arriving with us and your parcel leaving our hands. Delivery time is what the courier adds after that. They are two different waits, and we will always show both rather than blur them into one number.

Owner suppliedThe handling time, and the expected delivery time for each region. Both left blank rather than guessed.

  3. Not decided

    What shipping will cost

Whatever it turns out to be, it will be shown clearly at the checkout before you pay. There will be no surprise fee at the end.

Owner suppliedThe shipping prices, and whether there is an order value that earns free shipping. Left blank rather than guessed.

  4. Known now

How you will hear from us

Our email goes out through a company called Resend and arrives from info@potatoandhash.com. Saving that address in your contacts is the simplest way to stop our notes sliding into a spam folder.

When a parcel leaves, we plan to email you a tracking number and a link you can follow. Customer accounts are not open, so email is how we would reach you.

  5. Partly decided

    Please check your address twice

We can only post to the address you type. A missing apartment number is an easy thing to leave off and quite enough to send a parcel wandering. Give it one more read before you pay.

If you spot a mistake, email us straight away. Once a box is with the courier we cannot pull it back.

Owner suppliedHow long after ordering an address can still be corrected. Left blank rather than guessed.

  6. Not decided

If a parcel is running late

Couriers have slow days. Weather, holidays and busy seasons all add time, and a tracking page sometimes sits still for a while before it catches up.

If your tracking has not moved for a while, email us. We will look into it with you rather than leave you refreshing a page alone.

Owner suppliedHow long we wait before treating a parcel as lost, and how long you have to tell us about a problem. Left blank rather than guessed.

  7. Not decided

If a parcel is lost or arrives damaged

Tell us what happened. If something arrived broken, a photo helps a great deal. We would far rather hear from you than have you sitting quietly with a sad box.

Owner suppliedWhat happens about a lost or damaged parcel, whether that means a replacement or money back, and the time limit for asking. Left blank rather than guessed.

Crossing a border

Customs and duties are not ours to set.

If your order travels into another country, that country may add charges of its own. Import duty, customs fees and local tax are all possible. They are set by your government, not by us, and the courier may ask you to pay them before handing the parcel over.

We do not control those charges and we cannot work them out for you. Your local customs office is the right place to ask what to expect.

If a parcel is refused at customs and comes back to us, we will email you and explain the options.

Owner suppliedWho pays import charges, and whether checkout prices include or exclude them. Left blank rather than guessed.

Where this page stands

A plan, written down early.

Along with the store, customer accounts and personalized video requests are planned. None of them exist. When any of them arrive, we will say so plainly rather than quietly switch them on, and this page is updated before the first order can be placed.

When payments do begin, they will be handled by Stripe. Your card number goes straight to Stripe. This site never sees it and never stores it.

Not legal adviceThis page describes an intention, not a live service. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer, and nothing here claims that the site is certified or compliant with any consumer or distance selling law. Several of those laws set minimum rights that a policy cannot reduce, which is another reason the blanks above need a professional and not a best guess.

Ask about shipping

One address, and a human reads it.

If your question is one of the blanks above, the honest answer today is that we do not know yet. Ask anyway, at info@potatoandhash.com, and you will get that answer straight.
